You've probably already tried to think your way out of this. Most people I see have. The pattern holds anyway, or the same conversation keeps happening, or something you can't quite name keeps pulling you off course.

Thinking harder isn't the answer. Slowing down is. Depth psychotherapy is where we look at what's actually underneath: the protective patterns, the old injuries, the needs that never got named. Just two people doing honest work on the thing you came in carrying. Maybe that's anxiety, or depression, or your relationship with alcohol, or a life that used to fit and doesn't anymore.

How I work

I don't follow a manual. The relationship is where the change happens, so I show up as an actual person. Warm, direct, and willing to say the thing no one else in your life will say. Nonjudgmental, but not passive. Our work is serious, but it doesn't always have to be solemn.

Most of what looks like a problem started as a solution. The drinking, the distance, the overwork, the armor. It protected something once. We get curious about what, without shame and without moralizing. Understanding why a pattern exists is usually the beginning of it loosening.

If alcohol is part of the story

Some men come to me because of alcohol. Some come for something else entirely and drinking never enters the conversation. Both belong here.

If it is part of your story, know this: I work from a harm reduction perspective. No abstinence commitment is required to start, and I won't decide your goal for you. We look honestly at what alcohol is doing for you and what it's costing you, and you decide what you want on the other side of that.

Depth Psychotherapy - The Work

For a lot of people, this work is the whole journey. For others, it becomes the foundation that ketamine-assisted or psilocybin-assisted therapy builds on later. That's always an option, never an expectation. Plenty of my clients do talk therapy only, and go deep.

Sessions and fees

Weekly 50-minute sessions, in person in Boulder or by telehealth in Colorado and Minnesota. $195 per session. I'm in-network with Kaiser. For other insurance companies, I am out-of-network.

It starts with a free call. Not an intake, a conversation. You get a feel for how I work and we both decide whether it's a fit.

You don't need a clear story to start. You just need to start.
